OPEN WINDOWS & DOORS

Some people like the fresh air to blow through their homes. But once you turn your air conditioning system on for the season, it is best not to open the doors and windows. The reason being is that the humidity gets into your carpets, furniture, curtains, and anything that is made of fabric. Once this humidity is trapped and you turn on your air conditioning system, it can take up to 48 hours to get that humidity back out of the fabrics, thus raising your electric bill. Keep your thermostat set at a constant confortable temperature. This will save you alot more money on your electric bill, then opening doors and windows.

SAFETY FIRST

Safety for our employees and customers is very important to us. While on commercial jobs, we comply with OSHA Standard along with our own Company standards. We keep our equipment up-to-date and maintained regularly. We have weekly safety meetings for our employees and stress to them the importance of safety to themselves and others.

RECYCLING

Cardboard is a fully recyclable and biodegradable material. Cardboard is used to ship 90 percent of all products in the U.S. Recycled cardboard only takes 75 percent of the energy needed to make new cardboard and lessens the emission of sulfur dioxide that is produced when making pulp from wood trees. Recycling 1 ton of cardboard saves 9 cubic yards of landfill space and 46 gallons of oil. Cardboard is safe to dispose of as it has no toxic constituents and is biodegradable.

Our main office and warehouse is located in the City of St. Augustine. We pay the City a monthly fee to pick up our cardboard so that it can be recycled. We, at Action Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., think that it is very important to recycle.

DAMAGE FROM DIRTY FILTER

The importance of changing a filter and the damage it can cause.

As refrigerant passes through the indoor evaporator coil, it picks up heat by being absorbed into the refrigerant. When someone has a dirty or clogged filter, not only does the unit become inefficient, it also can cause major damage and is the #1 reason for compressor failure. If there is not sufficient airflow, then the refrigerant will return to the compressor in a liquid state instead of a vapor as no heat is being removed from the evaporator via lack of air flow. In an R-22 system the refrigerant is minus forty-one point four (-41.4) degrees below zero and R-410A minus fifty five point four (-55.4) in a liquid state (or lower) and can cause catastrophic damage to internal parts of the compressor when returned as liquid. Therefore, REMEMBER TO KEEP THAT FILTER CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HERESITE

HERESITE - The leader in corrosion protection for finned tube coils. The first HERESITE coating application to the exterior surface of finned tube coils took place in the early 1950s. Since that time, the HERESITE coating has effectively demonstrated its value in protecting heat transfer coils from corrosive, thereby increasing equipment service life. The excellent chemical and temperature resistance coupled with the good heat transfer properties of the HERESITE coating have made possible the outstanding results being obtained.

Practically all types of finned tube coils can be HERESITE protected against damaging environments. The HERESITE coating of air-conditioning process coils exposed to corrosive fumes and salt atmosphere is on the increase. Here at Action Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., we use an aerosol HERESITE application on all new equipment installed. Give us a call so we can quote you on a system change out or new construction install.

CORROSION GRENADE(TM)

The Problem: Deterioration of Aluminum Fins.
The Cause: Galvanic Corrosion a/k/a Electrolysis.
The Solution: The Corrosion Grenade(TM).
The Corrosion Grenade(TM) works like magic, but it is really science. The Corrosion Grenade(TM) is made of Zinc. Air conditioning manufacturers have been plagued with the expensive problem of metal part corrosion failure for years. We dealers have also paid the price, because warranty service is not very affordable. The Corrosion Grenade(TM) can be fastened to the suction line of any air conditioning/heat pump condensing unit. The Corrosion Grenade(TM) will dramatically slow down corrosion of all nearby metal parts. It protects continuously, even in a harsh salt environment. Galvanic Corrosion only damages the softest metal. Zinc is a softer metal than aluminum, therefore, the corrosion attacks the zinc and not the aluminum fins. The Corrosion Grenade(TM) will increase the life of your system and help maintain efficiency. Give us a call and we can quote you.
